Integrate your DVDs into your iTunes collection
What do you do if you have a huge collection of DVDs but you want to add them to your iTunes library on a Mac?
As you'll know if you've ever tried, copying a DVD into iTunes is impossible because iTunes doesn't recognize the format of the files. One solution to this is to use iFunia DVD to iTunes for Mac, which, as the name suggests, is designed specifically for this purpose. iFunia DVD to iTunes Ripper for Mac allows you to rip DVDs to iTunes MP4, M4V, MOV video and MP3, M4A, WAV, AIFF audio formats. All of these formats iTunes (including iTunes 9) understands.
iFunia DVD to iTunes Converter for Mac allows you to fully customize output settings such as bit rate, frame rate and resolution. It also gives you full control over ripping any DVD segment, subtitle and audio tracks, and allows you to add watermarks and even a few basic special effects. You can also take snapshots of your favorite scenes. The interface is the same standard clean and accessible one that's used throughout iFunia's well-crafted products and it's very easy to select the format you'd like to convert to.
What I really liked is that when you start the conversion, a countdown timer tells you how long the conversion will take. However, for a TV show DVD of six episodes, expect to wait around an hour for the full conversion to take place. On the bright side though, you can instruct iFunia DVD to iTunes Converter for Mac to shut down once it has completed the conversion. The only problem I encountered was accessing the preferences. For some reason, the program wouldn't allow me to access them from the File menu.
iFunia DVD to iTunes Converter for Mac is everything you'd expect from an iFunia product - elegant, no fuss, easy to use and efficient.
